Smoking ruins your beauty ladies, so don't get sucked in by the lure of organic cigarettes because they may not be as safe you think!
Are organic cigarettes any safer than the regular ones sold on the market today? ChickCentric takes a look at whether organic cigarettes are less harmful on your beautiful lady lungs! :)
First, let's examine the differences between a "green" cigarette and one laced with carcinogens.
While brands like Marlboro Red and Camel contain high amounts of additives like arsenic, nicotine and other lung pollutants, organic cigarettes are made of organically grown tobacco free of pesticides and additives.
But does that mean it's any safer? Nope! Tobacco is harmful to the lungs no matter how you slice it and organic cigarettes brands like American Spirit don't deliver a safer cigarette just because it's additive free.
The problem with companies like RJR and others touting organic cigarettes as a safer, although it's not was so prevalent that in Germany ads for organic cigarettes are banned.
And if you think most of this organic tobacco is grown in the United States, think again.
According to Plenty Magazine, "by 2010 a projected 87 percent of tobacco will be grown in developing countries like South Korea, where more than 40 percent of annual deforestation is due to the production and curing of tobacco; Brazil, where pesticide sprayings have polluted fresh water; and Malawi, which has the highest incidence of child labor in Southern Africa (tobacco farms in Malawi that have a contract with multinationals, about 20 percent of the total, have a ban on child labor).
