Can a Tattoo or Piercing Hurt Your Dating Life? by Kerry L. Gray - The Love Doctor

Ladies,

Can a tattoo or piercing hurt you when it comes to dating? Here are a few ideas to help you decide.

First, you will be unique if you DO NOT have one. Very few girls do not have a tattoo anywhere, and their lower back seems to be the most popular place to put one. You can make your body special by not having one, especially there. As you get older, you will be the only girl around without one. The other girls are helping you stay unique and special while they get them and you don't, so let them help you!

A Wise Man once told me that men really prefer girls without tattoos, and he was right.
Look at the Playboy models; the most popular ones have no tattoos or piercings, and the
letters to the editor about the men's favorites confirm what he said. Men do get tired of looking at the same thing, and there is little you can do to change the look of a tattoo.

Tongue piercings are all the rage, but educate yourself to their dangers before you decide to do it. The dental problems they cause can be severe, and your tongue is a direct route to your heart for infection: that can kill you. Don't let nipple rings interfere with your ability to breastfeed a baby later. Sure, a lot of girls might have them without problems, but what if you're the one who develops complications? Protect your health by gathering information before you choose.

A Super Man once told me that tattoos are like high school posters. Remember those posters you had on you bedroom wall during high school that you thought were so fabulous? Do you remember those wild posters that were so cool? How many of them do you have on your walls now?

Exactly. The tattoo you think is so cool now will become like that poster on your high
school bedroom wall. In a few years, you wouldn't dream of decorating your room with it.

A final rule to choosing is to give yourself the five-year rule that I gave my daughters. They must think about a tattoo or a piercing for at least five years. If they still want it
after five years, they can go ahead and get it.

They haven't gotten a single one yet.
