Self-Esteem is Sexy! by DDHG Editorial Team
Every woman wants to feel good about herself. You want to feel like you're smart, talented and beautiful in your own eyes. And you definitely don't want feelings of doubt and insecurity to sabotage you, but it isn't always easy! Check out these tips to help you boost your self-esteem!
1. Comparing Isn't Cool. Don't compare yourself to others. It erodes your self-esteem and focuses you on the things you don't have. This leads you to feel insecure and the cycle begins. Stop putting yourself down for the things in your life that you feel you lack.
2. Surround Yourself With Support. Hang out with people who make you happy. Friends and family who make you feel good about yourself can work wonders on your slumping self-esteem.
3. Don't Beat Yourself Up. Despite what you may think, no one is perfect. Trying to be perfect is an exercise in futility. At some point or another, everyone makes mistakes. So take it easy on yourself and don't beat yourself up for falling short, making a mistake or failing to achieve a goal.
4. Opinions are Obsolete. What others think about you isn't really so important if you look at the big picture, so don't stress it so much.
5. Love Yourself Inside and Out. Learning to love yourself is often a difficult task to achieve. Treat yourself right. Getting down on yourself or putting unnecessary pressure on yourself isn't going to help matters. Obsessing about your thighs or having a flatter stomach isn't going to do anything for you either. Give yourself a break and enjoy the good things in your life for a moment. You'll be surprised how good that feels! :-)
