We've heard all the classic signs of a cheating man '" the guy who stays out late, changes his appearance suddenly and spends a lot of time in cyberspace cruising for chicks. But what about the subtle signs that no one ever talks about? Here are three things to watch out that may be signs your man is having an affair.
1. Excuses '" these aren't the ordinary 'I'll be home late tonight, honey'- type of excuses. Those are obvious. The excuses we're talking about here are the ones that aren't so obvious. For example, your man says he's running out to run an errand. The errand should take about 30 minutes and you notice that he's been gone over an hour and a half. He gets back and gives you 'the excuse' '" I just stopped by a friend's house; I lost track of time; I didn't realize I'd been gone that long. These may be legitimate excuses and you may have nothing to worry about, but you should pay attention if you're often stuck spending time with your man's excuses and not with your man himself. You can't have a relationship with an excuse.
2. Play time '" your man, a virtual homebody when you met and fell in love, is now out and about for most of the day, all the time. You may wonder who he's spending his time with. He may just be a very busy guy, but he may be spending his time playing with another woman. Be on alert is you see signs that your man values his play time more than his alone time with you.
3. A good employee '" your man, a great employee at his job, tells you he's been asked to take on additional duties at the office that will require him to come home late and work on weekends. Although he agrees begrudgingly to work the extra hours, he seems to take it in stride. And for a man who's pulling double-duty at his job, he seems awfully chipper when he comes home. He may just be the kind of guy who can whistle while he works those extra hours and get it done or he may have just come back from spending some quality time with another woman.
