3 Ways to Stop Feeling Sorry For Yourself Right Now by Tasha Cunningham

When a romantic relationship ends, it's often tempting to sit around moping and feeling sorry for yourself. It's as if you've convinced yourself that you should shoulder all the blame for the relationship's demise and take a free pass to feel sorry for yourself.

Don't do it! Here are 3 ways to stop if you find yourself tempted.

1. Focus on the positive - after a breakup, you can sit there and wallow over all that went wrong, or look at the bright side and think about all the things you won't do wrong again in your next relationship.

2. Change something - when you breakup with a guy, it's tempting to keep up your usual routine. If you're looking to get back together with him, what better way than to go to all the same places you usually go to, right? WRONG! Immediately after your breakup, change something about your routine. Stop going to the same Starbucks and don't you dare go by his favorite restaurant!

3. Make compliments, not comments - When you think about your breakup, it's tempting to have a comment (mostly negative) about everything that has happened. Don't do it! Instead, compliment yourself every time you want to make a comment about your last relationship!
