We are part of a new revolution: a society of women "hooking up," which means having casual sex without strings. This is new to our young generation. Historically, women insisted on relationships that provided financial security and safety in a society that valued women staying at home raising children. Does "hooking up" satisfy women emotionally, or does it leave women with the feeling that something is missing? Young women today sometimes feel they should be able to have sex without the emotional attachments previous generations of women insisted on before engaging in sex. They are then supposed to be proud of it! Watching porn together, visiting strip bars, and having threesomes are considered normal and something to work toward.
