Empower Yourself
How to Look Your Best on MySpace and Facebook by Kerry Gray

Girls are letting it all hang out on their MySpace and Facebook profiles. Should you do it, too? No! Here is why!

Revealing your body in lingerie shots and bikinis by plastering nearly naked pictures
on your profiles says three things: Insecure, Desperate and Easy. Guys don't like any of those at all!

Sure, they collect all the pics they can of supermodels and movie stars, and they brag
to each other and maybe even to you about some hot babe and her almost nude pics. That's not a girl he will take seriously, though, and it's not someone he will date for the long term
or marry, either.

Have some good taste and a sense of style by showing off pics that reveal just a little.
Leave a little (or a lot!) to his imagination and he will think about you long after he's finished looking at all the other girls'
nearly nude pics.

Should you post details about drinking, sex and drug use on your profiles? Absolutely not.
No guy wants to read or see online that his best girl was doing body shots, smoking a dooby
and playing spin the bottle with the fast crowd. He might never think about you in the same, serious way again.

Guard your reputation online. It is hard to get back a good reputation once it is lost.
Don't try to post pics and details to try and make him jealous, either. This will backfire every time. Keep the wild comments off your profiles. Remain a little mysterious, and only hint at the good times you recently had while out on the town.

Remember, too, that potential employers (read, your future Boss!) and even school admissions counselors are doing searches on personal networks to weed out the party kids, drinkers and drug users. Keep that, and all the profanity, too, off your MySpace and Facebook. Make sure your profiles work FOR you, and not against you.
