How to be a Great Girlfriend This Bowl Season! by The Average Guy
Ladies, it is my time of the year. Christmas is here! I can eat and drink. I get to take my lovely girl out for New Years. But, the absolute best thing is that it is bowl season. No, it is not sale on bowls at Target. It is college football bowl season. It's time to celebrate the very best in college football. Endless, long lasting bowl games. The Orange Bowl. The Rose Bowl. The Fiesta Bowl. Obscure bowls that you have never heard of.
Finally, the BCS National Championship game.
Now, what should you do when your man decides that he would rather watch football games than go with you to the latest sale to get the latest must have items? Let him!!! Don't complain. This is the count down time for you. See, after the bowl games and the NFL playoffs and the Super Bowl, football season is over. So, how to you show your love and devotion?
First, acknowledge that the bowl season and playoffs are coming up. Engage him in the talk. Acknowledge that this time is important to him. A few hints for you ladies. Tell him that you think the Patriots will win the Super Bowl and tell him you believe that LSU has a slight edge against Ohio State in the BCS National Championship game. Tell him that Brett Farve (rhymes with carve) is having a breakout season.
Second, give him ONE day to have his friends over to watch the games. It should be your idea. You should prepare the food. Guy food is easy. Pizza, chicken wings, beer, chips. Order the pizza and get the rest from your local grocery store and you are good. When the game is on, you should get out of the way and let guys be guys. However, if your man watches games alone, then you should be with and snuggle up. He will like this because it shows that you take an interest in things that we like. Tell him, "Baby, I want to support you in the things that are important to you, just like you would do for me." He will answer, "That's right baby."
Third, do not try to compete with the game. Don't come out in a sexy outfit and try to get him to go have sex instead of watching the game. Not cool. It makes us choose between something we love doing and the person we love.
Now, you're ahead in the favor bank. In the guys mind will record that we owe you one. Take your time to cash in the favor. When you do, remember to use the word "support". Our brains will say, "Um, I've heard that word someplace before and it was good. Oh yeah, she said that when she entertained my friends during the playoffs." Just do something that you want to do and ask him to support you in your decision. He will want to help you. This is how you create a win/win situation. He will feel good about doing what you want to do.
