Is Your Best Girlfriend a Bad Friend in Your Man's Eyes? by The Average Guy
Meeting a girl's best friend, can be almost as intimidating as meeting the parents. A man knows that meeting this 'other woman' can be the difference in how the future of the relationship will go.
See, we figure that you girls have already discussed everything. She knows all of my best sex moves and failures. But, we believe that once you have decided to be with us on a serious basis, there can be only one best friend'"me.
This goes for the guys and the girls. Once you are in a committed relationship, and your best friend is not, you cannot maintain the level of friendship that you had with that person. Why? The friend is trying to get into a relationship 'maybe'and you are trying to build yours.
One of my friends was a classic playboy - not really a playboy, but more like a dog. I have to call like I see it. The woman of my dreams never met him because I knew that my days of hanging out with him were over. She was more important to me than my friendship with him.
We men want your best friend 'the slut' to also go away forever. You girls all have a friend that's a slut. At least, that's what I've always heard. We don't want her anywhere near you discussing how you used to troll the bars for guys together. No way!!!
There is another more pervasive best friend. This is the friend that's unhappy so she can't stand to see you happy. She is always dropping poison on the relationship. Those friends have to also go. Ask yourself whether you would tolerate your man's friends always dumping on you. Of course you wouldn't. You'd tell him to make a choice'"you or the friends.
Also, we don't want to ask you to do this. However, we may have to because you can't read our minds. But, once we ask, get rid of these 'evil doers'. It is incumbent upon men to make sure that's something we're ready to ask for. Why? We can't just ask you to get rid of your friends and then we decide we've had enough on the relationship. We have to make sure that we're in it for keeps.
It's perfectly fair for a man to ask his girlfriend to get rid of disruptive friends. But, it also okay for her to explain what it means to you to give up your friendships and what from you expect in return.
