My Ex Won't Pay Up

Dear Tasha,

I was dating this guy for 9 months. He was transferred overseas for his job. He told me he wanted me to move in with him, that he cares for me and to come visit him. I booked a $2000 ticket for an overseas flight, and 5 days later he breaks up with me.

Now I am stuck and he won't pay me for the cancellation fees but instead, ignores me. What should I do?

A. You aren't dating this guy anymore and it's unlikely he will pay you back. Instead, go through your credit card company to try and get a refund if you're not able to do it through the airline.

This loser won't pay you back, so just chalk up the cancellation fees as the price you had to pay to learn just how horrible this guy is. It's not worth staying in contact with him or fighting with him. It's best to just get this guy out of your life! -- Tasha Cunningham
