Courtney,
At this point in time, I pity Palin.
She's a token that McCain and the Republican party has been using from the beginning to try and win what has almost become an unwinnable election for him.
People in America are angry. They have been screwed without a kiss by the big corporations, lobbyists, careless and irresponsible financiers and opportunists on Wall Street, and they want to see some blood. But for a change, not their own.
Palin is not in any way qualified to be the Vice President of the United States of America and the fact that McCain would stoop so low as to choose her for the obviously political reasons he has chosen her merely makes me even more certain of my decision to vote for Obama.
Basically what it boils down to is that Sarah Palin is being used. And the very sad thing about it is that, like so many women, she does not even realize it.
Are there women qualified for this position? Undoubtedly. But not her.
I am convinced that Obama will win, and I most certainly plan to vote for him.
But I'm still saddened because I have friends who actually believe he has a background that makes him an Islamic terrorist deep down inside. That is how deep the roots of paranoia and ignorance are planted inside some people in this country.
On my own MySpace page, I spoke at length about Palin. I have little but pity and contempt for her.
I also do not in any way trust her Presidential running mate.
If they win, I am seriously considering moving to New Zealand.
Barack Obama is a hard-working, tough, courageous, insightful and knowledgeable man. Joe Biden is an excellent compliment for him, with his experience and commitment. Together, I think they can go far.
It angers me that some of my friends send me emails trying to spread shit about him. But as I said in another post, being angry at people for behaving like fools is like being angry at fire, because it burns.
People behaving like fools is something you can and must count on.
However, I truly hope that in this upcoming election, those who are NOT fools outweigh those who are. |
