i need some help with trying to figure out what would be the best thing for me. i dont have to much money and im trying to figure out what to pay for monthly. either horse back riding, dance lessons, going to curves or self defense and kick boxing. im looking to tone up and the gym i go to i get so bored and hot and i dont know its not fun anymore to me i want to do something i enjoy. i want to go jogging now that its nice out but where i go its hilly and i heard you shouldnt jog on cement and hilly service. anyway if anyone has done any of these and one seems to work better then something else please let me know. im looking to lose five to ten pounds and tone up thanks!

i drink mainly water 95% of the day and that helped me get rid of some excess. pops , iced tea , diet pops have alot of sugar so avoid that. caffine weakens the muscle. but i walk a couple of miles. ride my bike and play sports plus my kids keep me active so after theyre done with sports lol it might be a different story for me then. make sure you have a good shoe tho that helps alot

hi there. thanks for the info. yes i usually just have unsweetened ice tea or water. i was thinking maybe joining dance or doing 5-8 dollar lessons with my friend who does dance shell teach me once a week an it turns out to b the same as if i was going to a studio but its private like i want it to b not group. so i was thinking of doing that and if it don't work then just doing the group or seeing how much there private would be at the studio. im also thinking of doing two classes a week at a gym somewhere and getting out of my gym cause i really dont like it anymore there. so i wont get bored cause ill b in a class so i think i might do that and the dance hehe. once it gets nice ill want to try to find a track to jog on instead of where i usually go.

anyone know if just taking two classes a week at the gym is okay to do for yourself?

okay so i decided i want to join a gym with lots of classes and time offerings. something in my budget and not to far from my house. i decided on a gym and now i have to go and make sure it is what i want by going for a week and see how i feel n etc. i also am going to take dance lessons with my friend who will teach me once a week ballroom. if not then ill go to her studio for the same price. when it gets nice out i will be walking and jogging when the schools are out on their track from time to time. im so glad i decided this cause i wasnt sure what to do and so forth.

anyway i was wondering if anyone can tell me about spinning class. i been hearing and reading about it and i would like to try it but i am not sure this is for beginners and its okay if i havent worked out hard in a year? i was wondering how many times a week i should do this and if its okay to be taking dance and other classes at the same time. i know my body has to heel so i was just wondering if anyone knows a good amount of which classes i should do so i do not hurt myself. thanks

If you have a DVD player or VCR, get a Pilates video with the instructor, Ana Caban. She's excellent and the stuff really works.

Or another option...for toning, Iyengar Yoga is great. But you have to do it consistently and it can take awhile to learn. A good tape is Yoga Practice for Beginners with Patricia Walden.

One of the hardest parts of the body to tone is the arms...one thing that helps is Ana Caban's Pilates Body Circles. You can order it from the gaiam catalogue and it comes with the rubber rings. I got better results than I did with weights.
