Don't you think there is just a bit of a double standard here? Would you have the same argument and warning about any woman who owns a dildo?

Absurd statement....sex toys are endorsed by every therapeutic professional working in the field of human sexuality, for a host of reasons.

I wonder what is really the issue here...it sounds like you have an ethical or moral objection, or that you have experienced being with a man who escapes from intimacy through obsessive masturbation. For a man who is afraid to show up emotionally, it is far easier to have a sex toy at the end of his penis, than a real woman. (SO sad!)

This is not confined to one gender or another, however; it also holds true for women. It comes down to this: if you are using a sex toy as a substitute for any form of true intimacy, and to the exclusion of any human contact, then it is likely that ghantol's warning to steer clear of this person is validated. (Not because it is innately disgusting, however, that is your own closed minded value judgment)

If, however, the sex toys are used in the relationship as merely another form that love, intimacy and sexuality can express itself, then it is a healthy practice which can engender closeness, trust and variety, moving a couple’s sexuality forward, where it might have been stagnating. Not to mention the mind blowing orgasms that they can share.

Not all women feel the way you do, ghantol. My wife has bought me several of these kinds of items over the years for Christmas and Birthdays, and they are a somewhat small part of the way we express our sexuality in a loving, committed and healthy marriage. I prefer the touch of her skin any day, but it is also fun to play...

Don't be so quick to make your own uninvestigated sweeping moral prejudices and state them as facts. Sexuality is an intensely personal realm, and what is true for you might not be true for another. To make statements like you made are simply divisive and continue to breed an atmosphere of misogyny which supports all the predicable and tired clichés about men which have nothing to offer the healing process that sites like this one can support.

Damn right there are double standards, and not just with attitudes, but from with in the law also. This http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1567410/Man-who-had-sex-with-bike-in-court.html is a story of a man who was taken to court and placed on the sex offender register for having sex with his bicycle. The man was in his hotel room, had a Do Not Disturb sign on the door and the door was locked. Two cleaners let themselves into his room and caught him having sex with his bike. The cleaners were so shocked that they had to inform the police. I would like to know if they would have felt the same way if it had been a woman, in bed with her vibrator. What is the difference between a woman using a lump of plastic and metal to get her kicks, and a man using a lump of plastic and metal to get his kicks?
