LOVE PANEL
Hey, I have been with my man for 2 years. Our whole relationship has been rocky. He cheated on me. I never proved it, but there were signs. He stole from me. He freeloaded off of me and he did not work in the 2 years we were together.
I have a son with him and for a while he seemed like a good dad, but when we broke up 1 month ago he turned his back on me and my son. He has not called to see our son or even sent money. I really thought he loved me and my son we were planning to get married one day.
I'm thinking he is treating me and my son this way because he is special needs kid. Please give me your insight. -- Monica, Detroit

First of all, you should never have even let this guy into your life! He had no job, cheated on, etc. Why would you put up with that kind of treatment, girl? If you ask me, I say forget about him and moving on with making a better life for you and your son.
I agree with Queer Eye! You don't have time to sit around and try to make this guy love his son and act right. You have to be the best mother you can be for your son, because right now you're all he's got!
It's important to properly access the situation you're in. I agree with Average Guy, you have a child with special needs and he has to be your priority. You should see a lawyer about making your son's father pay child support, though. Whether he wants to have contact with you or your son or not, he can't ignore his financial obligation to his child.
