I once dated a guy I thought was better looking than me. Everywhere we went, women stopped to stare and comment. I became so insecure than one day, I finally ended the relationship.
I felt like it was better for me to break up with Mr. Too Good Looking now than wait for him to break up with me. He protested and insisted we give the relationship another try, but I refused.
A while later, I realized that I had let my dating insecurity get the best of me and I ended up pushing a great guy away. Don't let that be you.
Stop letting insecurity stand in the way of you having a fabulous love life. Here are 3 things you can do!
1. Don't compare yourself to others - every one in the world, despite where they come from or their background is at heart, just a person. There's no need for you to compare yourself to other women or men for that matter. You're an individual who comes with your own set of wonderful attributes.
2. Don't doubt yourself. Going into a date with the attitude that it's not going to work out from the start or that you're not good enough to be with the guy you're dating will lead to disaster. Why would you allow your insecurity to set you up for failure before you've even sat down for a first date?
3. Have an open mind - give yourself a chance to see how things are going to play out with a guy you're dating. Have fun, relax and enjoy the time you spend dating, but don't obsess about it, try to control it or stop it. You're dating, not marrying the guy. Breathe deeply and enjoy yourself. -- Tasha Cunningham, Tasha@DontDateHimGirl.com
