Are Your Man's Virtual Relationships Replacing His Real-Life Ones?
While women surf most often to shop, 86% of the men who surf the Internet are checking out sexually explicit sites, dating online and frequenting online chat rooms.
If your man is spending this kind of time in cyberspace surfing Internet porn sites instead of in the real world, he may be slowly replacing his real-life relationships with virtual ones. Often, the virtual relationships aren't confined to cyberspace for long!
Another UK study, published by the BBC, confirmed that 30% of internet users who have online lovers admit to having had sex with their virtual partners in the flesh.
It also revealed that 70% of women remained in the dark about their spouses extramarital activity.
So what should you do if your man is spending too much time online?
1. Take him away from the computer. If you know that your guy spends three hours a day after work surfing the Internet, plan a surprise dinner and have fun without a computer in sight!
If he refuses to participate and decides he'd rather hit the Internet instead, you should seek counseling because your man may have a disorder called internet addiction.
2. Talk to him. Find out why he spends so much time online. Don't do it in a confrontational way, however, because men almost instantly shut down when they're approached this way.
3. Discuss your feelings about it. Tell your guy how you feel when you see him surfing Internet sites for hours on end and avoiding participation in his real life with you. -- Tasha Cunningham
