Hello everyone, I just joined today. This is my problem and it is keeping me awake at night. I met a wonderful man last Nov. He is kind, considerate, excellent lover and has beautiful eyes and smile.
The problem is he is a long haul trucker and has a very hard time making ends meet. It all sounds good...he makes big dollars but he has big expenses. I let him move in 2 months ago and charge him no rent or expenses. I have helped him financially to the tune of 15,000 dollars and I just can't keep doing it. My resorces are finite and I really have to think of my financial future. I worked very hard to make it secure and the thought of losing it makes me crazy.
He is open, I have seen his bills, bank documents etc. I just need to know how to put a stop the my financial bleed and not lose him. The moneys I gave him I have no intention of trying to recover, I considered it as helping a friend when I gave it to him. I also realize that compared to some of the problems here mine is not huge but I really really really would like the imput from people with no dog in the fight as it were!!! -- Emma
Dear Emma,
Never, ever lend a guy you're not married to money. It almost never ends well. Tying money to love usually ends in disaster if the relationship ends. Like they say, love and money don't mix. Learn the lesson, move on from this experience and don't ever do it again. -- The Average Guy
