The real truth is, he will respect you more for it. Any grown man who cannot get you a card or gift or plan a special meal for Valentine's Day should not be able to have you in his life. This same man will not take care of you when you are sick or old or gray, so do not let him have your youth now. Leave him.
If you live with him, are you cooking and cleaning and serving him hand and foot, while also paying the bills and working an outside job? Lose him. Just move out. No explanation needed. It might be hard at first, but it will be worth it. The truth is, it just might wake him up. You could stay for years and years and he might never appreciate you. You could leave now and give him time alone. He might come back in days when he realizes what he is missing, and when he does, let him wait while you think about it.
