1. Fear of Emotional Intimacy - men are taught from an early age to be strong, brave and to take care of the women in their lives. Being emotionally vulnerable is a big no-no for most men. For a guy, opening up about his feelings, sharing his hurts, struggles and disappointments and letting himself be vulnerable for even a minute is difficult. If you're dating a guy who has a fear of intimacy, try your best to foster a dating environment built on trust and caring and when your guy does go out on a limb and lets you into his innermost thoughts and feelings, don't ridicule them. Instead embrace them and understand that the man you love is doing his best to be emotionally intimate with you.
2. Fear of Change - most guys create their lives so that everything in their lives is pretty much constant. A change in his routine can be scary. In a romantic relationship, that change could mean living together, having a steady girlfriend and not dating anyone else. To a guy this kind of change is frightening. 3. Fear of Abandonment - guys who put their feelings out there to a woman they care about often have an irrational fear that she's going to leave him at some point.
