What Should You Do When Your Guy Ends His Affair?
Dear DDHG,
Recently I found out that my soon to be ex was romancing another woman. About a month ago he and I really started bumping heads frequently.I thought there might have been another woman but I never found any proof and he wasn't displaying any of the other signs of a "cheater". Then last weekend I found out when he had went out with the boys the prior weekend he had actually taken another woman's number and even took her on a date. A couple of days later he ended it (this is before I found out the affair) saying he had a girlfriend and didn't want to do me wrong anymore. I found all this in his text messages. I'm not sure what to do now. I have only spoken to him once since I confronted him. I'm not sure how I want to proceed. I go back and forth between forget him and perhaps I should give him another chance I've been more lenient with bigger jerks. He's not my type but I really do care about him. This has all caught me off guard. I don't blame myself for anything that has happened but I take it as a subliminal sign from him that he's not into me anymore.
My male friends say run and don't look back but they are also the ones who have cheated on their significant others. My female friends say take sometime and give him another time but make him work hard and earn another chance. I'm soooo confused.

Listen to your male friends and get out of this relationship as soon as you can. Your soon-to-be ex is not your child, you don't have to be lenient with him, you've got to be strong for yourself. He's cheated and now the relationship is over, end of story. Do you really want to give this guy another chance to break your heart? - The Average Guy
