What's the Fastest Way to Lose a Great Guy? Find Out!
Bookmark and Share
Girls, you might not want to hear it, but this is the truth. If you do everything you can for a new man, you are putting an end to the relationship.

We know, we know. When you have a new man in your life, you want to do everything! Cook for him, clean for him, pick up after him -- you even love to do his laundry! Why do we girls do this?

Lots of reasons! We want to nest, we want to nurture, we want to mother. We want to create a bond, build a nest, and then clean it, sweep it and vacuum it! This is a trap and a fast way to end what might be the love of your life. Why would a guy run from this? Why wouldn't a guy choose a woman who can do everything and be everything, from his lover to his mother to his wife? Because it is boring!

There is no challenge, no chase, no play, no game. When you do everything for him before you get to the altar, he will not put a ring on it. He will look for the girl who presents a challenge to him, and that is the girl he will marry.

We love the advice in the book Why Men Love ***. She tells you to wait, wait, wait, and the first thing you cook him is popcorn in the microwave. Let him choose the bag or the bowl. Six months down the road when you finally heat him up a can of Spaghettios, he thinks it is the best hot meal he has ever had. That is the girl he will marry.

The one who keeps him guessing, who keeps him working, who keeps him wondering if he can turn you into -- you guessed it -- his mother, his lover, and his wife.

When that new man is calling you and chasing you like crazy, resist the urge to run his errands, put on an apron and whip him up a five course meal. Let him do all the work, all the planning, and all the chores to get ready for his fabulous dates with you. You will have all the time in the world to do those things for him -- after he puts a ring on it!
