Why is this? It might seem like the one who works the hardest to make the relationship work holds the power, but they don't.
It might seem like the one who loves the most,
and who is most giving holds more of the power, but they don't. It is the one who seems the least concerned, the one who appears to be able to take it or leave, who holds more power in early romantic relationships.
This is human nature. We always want what we can't have. When the object of our affection seems aloof and not as interested, we want them more.
