I've had similar issues and was just dumped by my boyfriend because after several months he decided I was too old for him (he's 28 I'm 39). I showed him that an older woman can be just as fun and exciting as a younger woman without all the dramatics, and he continued to tell me how much he liked me, how great I was, how much his friends and family liked me, up to the moment with the truth finally came out. I even asked him on several occasions if he thought there was a problem with our age difference and he answered "No". Obviously he was a liar and I started to feel things were going south when he began conveniently forgetting things he knew well about me, such as what my food preferences were, etc. Guys seem to be out to get one thing, and we as women should just start DENYING them of that pleasure.
